Research and Scholarly Methods

This collection of articles is designed specifically for clinicians who may not have formal research training but are actively engaged in scholarly activities. The papers are intended to be succinct, practical, and applicable. Rather than exhaustive academic reviews, they focus on the “why” and “how” of research, providing essential tools for junior investigators and peer reviewers alike.

Each article in this series features:

  • Practical Guidance: Explanations of when and why to use specific study designs and methods
  • Key Considerations: Tables summarizing what to look for when reading specific types of papers
  • Researcher Toolkits: Figures or flow diagrams outlining best practices
